A great video showing remove your boat from its trailer when on land. handy for trailer maintenance, bottom work and more! from lou sauzedde and tips from a shipwright!. Take the boat to a marina, launch it and pay to keep it moored and stored while you travel home, do the work and return, or you can jack the boat up off the trailer, pull the trailer out from under and put it back when the work is finished.. What are you doing to the trailer? honestly, the best way is to put the boat in the water. taking a baot off a trailer on land, without the proper lifting equipment is a giant pita..
Going bare: stripping the paint off our aluminum hull posted on february 8, 2016 by jessica awhile back when we were de-naming our boat by trying different methods to remove paint and see if it was what we wanted for the final product, there was a debate on if we did in fact want to go down to bare metal or just remove the top layer and repaint. For me, it is putting a bottle jack under the trailer, raising the boat and trailer off of the ground. i then block it up. there's a angle running the length of my pontoons on the bottom, so i have some 2x8's with a cut out down the center so that the angle sits square in the middle and is supported on both sides.. Re: what's the quickest way to get the rust off my trailer? when i purchased my boat the trailer was in very bad shape. i took the boat (12 foot aluminum), put it on the grass and went to work..
